HIGH RISE TEXTILE RECYCLING
Recycle Clothes, Shoes, and Textiles in your Building
High-rise residents have constantly been faced with the challenge of conveniently recycling clothing in their dwelling in an urban setting. Clothing drop off bins are few and far between in dense urban areas, therefore discarding textiles either require the resident to spend time, energy, and fuel to search for and find a bin and usually drive to it to drop them off or they just end up in the garbage bin. This issue is one of the major contributors to the 30,000 tonnes/year of textiles that end up in the Metro Vancouver landfills.
Revivify Recycling Solutions in partnership with Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver help promote, design and provide textile recycling programs for the thousands of Metro Vancouver residents that live in high-rise buildings. We work with property management companies, strata councils, and property developers to provide a textile recycling program that allows residents to easily recycle clothing, linen, and shoes much like containers, paper, organics and other recycling materials in their building. The service is designed to keep thousands of pounds of textiles out of landfills every day and reduce the environmental impact and lessen the carbon footprint of driving to find drop off locations.
